Oscar Predictions

Seriously, if I didn't consider the probabilities of me actually becoming a film critic, I would love to be a film critic. That would be the most wonderful job in the world. Maybe when I'm 40 and have saved enough money... I don't know how it works, but yes, I would love to take over Ebert and Roeper (however, would Ching be a marketable last name?) Anyways, these are my predictions for the 2009 Oscars:

Best picture
The Curious Case of Benjamin Button (Would Win)
Frost/Nixon
Milk
The Reader
Slumdog Millionaire (Should Win)

Best director
Danny Boyle - Slumdog Millionaire
Stephen Daldry - The Reader
David Fincher - The Curious Case of Benjamin Button (Win)
Ron Howard - Frost/Nixon
Gus Van Sant - Milk

Best actor
Richard Jenkins - The Visitor
Frank Langella - Frost/Nixon
Sean Penn - Milk
Brad Pitt - The Curious Case of Benjamin Button
Mickey Rourke - The Wrestler (Win)

Best actress
Anne Hathaway - Rachel Getting Married (Win)
Angelina Jolie - Changeling
Melissa Leo - Frozen River
Meryl Streep - Doubt
Kate Winslet - The Reader (I thought she would have a better chance for Rev. Rd)

Best supporting actress
Amy Adams - Doubt
Penelope Cruz - Vicky Cristina Barcelona (Would Win)
Viola Davis - Doubt
Taraji P Henson - The Curious Case of Benjamin Button (Should Win)
Marisa Tomei - The Wrestler

Best supporting actor
Josh Brolin - Milk
Robert Downey Jr - Tropic Thunder (Should Win, jk)
Philip Seymour Hoffman - Doubt
Heath Ledger - The Dark Knight (Win)
Michael Shannon - Revolutionary Road

Best animated feature film
Bolt
Kung Fu Panda
Wall-E (DEFFFFF WIN, 100%, should have been nominated for Best Picture instead of Milk)

Best adapted screenplay
The Curious Case of Benjamin Button (Win)
Doubt
Frost/Nixon
The Reader
Slumdog Millionaire

Best original screenplay
Happy-Go-Lucky
Milk
Wall-E (Win)
In Bruges
Frozen River

I think Benjamin Button will win at least 7 Oscars. Discuss.
